The Technical Director works with the Producing Artistic Director and contracted designers on all technical aspects of the theatre’s productions. The technical director reports directly to the Producing Artistic Director position:

  • Constructs and installs scenery for all mainstage (5 productions) and youth theatre (4) productions
  • Sets up and strikes youth theatre scenery as needed during dual runs
  • Maintains and supervises the use of the theatre’s sound, lighting and video equipment
  • Makes minor repairs within the theatre building as needed.
  • Organizes and maintains the theatre’s workshop, storage, props, and backstage facilities.


Ideal candidates possess a minimum of three years of technical theatre experience in a professional setting along with a basic knowledge of computerized theatrical lighting, projection, and sound systems. The successful candidate will have the ability to plan and work on a prescribed production schedule, be able to lift and carry in excess of 50 pounds and be ready to interact in a professional manner with staff, cast, crew, and guests of all ages at any time.
