About Swift Creek Mill Theatre
Mission
Swift Creek Mill Theatre is a not-for-profit organization that provides Central and Southside Virginia with professional theatre in a variety of genres, including its Youth Theatre and Educational programs, and preserves its historic building.
Vision
For more than three centuries, Swift Creek Mill has been a gathering spot for our diverse community. Swift Creek Mill Theatre, a not-for-profit organization, strives to uphold this tradition by presenting: professional theatre, accessible to the entire region; world-class educational programming for all who enjoy the benefits derived from participation in live theatre; and high-caliber, engaging entertainment.
We produce remarkable shows.
We present a both a season of MainStage Performances and Youth Theatre each year to expand and encourage the growth of cultural awareness and acceptance in Southside Virginia.
We make theatre accessible.
We offer theatrical opportunities at special rates for groups, veterans, seniors, active military, students, and more! Every MainStage Performance has a Pay What You Can night and we seek support to underwrite tickets for public schools in the area. Our theatre is also fully ADA compliant.
We invest in the next generation.
We work with educators to
create positive opportunities through the production of plays that coincide with yearly SOL requirements. Our education department offers opportunities for students to experience the joy of live theatre through classes, camps, and other opportunities.
We support local artists.
We support our community and economy by hiring directors, performers, musicians, designers, and technicians from the local area.
