Robyn O’Neill

We are thrilled to partner with local artists to showcase their artwork at Swift Creek Mill Theatre. Artwork is hung on the walls of the Mill Room (our main dining room) and available for viewing and/or purchase by our patrons.

In June 2009, I reconnected with an old friend on Facebook. We met in the music world; she was a pianist and I was a singer. Twenty five years later, unbeknownst to the other, we had both gravitated toward photography. She suggested that we challenge ourselves to post one photograph per day on FB. She meant for a month. Always one to take things to the extreme, I decided to do it for a year. It was a lofty goal, and it actually took me eighteen months to post 365 photos. These are just a few of them, along with their FB descriptions.
Day 42 – The Marital Condition (or I Told You I Was Depressed)
Audra and I got up at 4:30 this morning so we could be at Belle Isle when the sun came up. You should have seen the looks we got from joggers wondering why there was a woman in the river wearing a wedding dress. This one made us laugh really hard!
*thanks to Irene Ziegler for the title!

Day 64 – General Pershing
Pelicans perching on the Pershing in Monterey Bay.

Day 71 – In the Middle of a Cloud
If you were to look off to the left of this photo, you might see the tippy top of the Golden Gate Bridge – for a second anyway, until the fog rolled back in and covered it up again. It was about 85 degeres on the bridge, and about 20 degrees in the middle of this cloud!

Day 78 – George
When I was in Blowing Rock, there was a group of ducklings hanging around the pond. This little guy was the baby of the bunch – the only one who was still all yellow.

Day 89 – In the Dead of Winter
Not much growing at the winery in February.

Day 96 – Bicycle
Yep, that’s the whole title. I purposely didn’t tell the story because it’s more fun to make up one for yourself.

Day 119 – Anemone (I think)
I took this at the Monterrey Aquarium. I think it’s an anemone of some sort, but I honestly don’t know for sure. If you do, let me know. Thanks!

Day 129 – California Wildflower
My friend Debra and I did Seussical together. She wondered if we could maybe see Whoville somewhere on this flower.

Day 170 – Remembering Summer
And missing it desperately!
(posted in Feb)

Day 220 – Lily Meets the Mud Puddle (or This is What Happens When Your Kid Stays with Me)
Julie, please don’t kill me.

Day 365 – The Countdown
It’s just a couple hours away from 2011! And since I most likely will not be awake at midnight, I’ll say it now: HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!

[Photo of NYC Street Sign] I just realized that this photo never actually made it into the 365 Project. I think I had it all ready to post and then decided to use a different one instead. It was taken during a trip to New York, interestingly enough with my friend Pam who inspired the project.
